What in the heck is going on there?
This team was starting to make some noise, especially at the end of last season and next thing you know, the coach is fired, players are jumping off the team and the owner is in hot water?
Is all accurate or is everything just dandy in Sailor land?
ps. they still have the best goalie in the OHA!

Yes, he was trying out for the Blackhawks. They don't need him. I am sure he is a nice enough kid, however he can not play on their top three lines.
Possibly he can go to Welland help them out.

I do not think that the dust has settled yet in Port...usually when people on here start talking about Port their managment jumps in and clears the air,,this time it is quiet... too quiet...somehow I don't think Wheatfield is going to be the cellar dweller when all is said and done

love or hate hubbard, he got the job done then why are all the players leaving or wanting out. the best move the sailors could do right now is put the owner on the bench to see if he can get the job done. hey you may not like hubbard but the one thing he did was make port competive in all the years he was there if you look back he did not a bad job i hate him when he is on the other team but you love him when he is on your side. good luck hubs

i tell you this i don't like hubard but this guy gets the job done everytime he turns there ship around the owners get jeaouls and cut him loose port will falter again as far as the kids being cut i don't believe that for a minute they could help any team in the league including our mighty falcons

The reasons for the trouble in Port has to be shared by the former coach and their owner.
Both of these guys have egos bigger then the moon. Problem is neither one of these guys have ever accomplished anything worthwhile in the hockey worlds.
The problems began near the end of last season and continued this training camp.I won't get into details because that would prove nothing.
Its too bad whats happening to the Sailors and both Tim and Rob can take credit for that. Port deserves better then what they have. Do the right thing Tim, put the team up for sale and lets hope the new owner will come in and run the team the way most of the other teams in the Shoe are run.
Tim, you only have about 10-12 players left that want to play for you, you can't trade anybody your talent level is not strong enough to get good returns and players on other teams don't want to play for you. Why not sell the team???

i kinda agree that they both have egos i think if tufol leaves everything alone port might have a pretty good year now it is a sinking ship why are the players leaving you can bash hubbard but what he did is take a below average team and complete if you remember port had no business being in the finals the one year with the team they have so i think we have to credit where credit is do hey i don't like hubbard either but the guy has done a pretty good job. for last year is last year the trainer made the issue about hubbard it wasnot the kid playing injured he wanted to play i think the real reason hubbard is not there he stood up to tufol about hte goalie situation and the owner did not like that i have been a port fan for 10 years i live in port he has done the best for us i hope it gets beter lets go port!!!

who cares what the owner thinks of the coach- ask the players and I am sure that they all loved their coach

well i i hear and see is that players are bolting port you may not like hubbard the players played for him he got the most out of the players everytime he coached in port i think he is a good coach we may not like him but he did the job i know when the port club came to st.catharines me and wife came to see the game the league will miss him give a little credit we may not like him!!!! port will miss him at he gate and on the bench

I tried talking to the owner tuffolo once about a player he got from a relative. Who coached at a higher level, tuffolo didnt even know who my relative was. Anyone in this area knows, and was coveted by falcons to coach this year. All he did was cut down the player he sent there way, and defend his league. Most management in the league know and respect my relative and would have loved to have him during his playing days. Must say hubbard did get results, so why let him go? Too bad for the port fans and kids playing there, not a good situation seemed like they had a nice thing going on.

if you go to the Sailors web site and read about their history, it is so obvious that Toffolo has changed the entire course of Sailors history in only 2 short years.. Hopefully some sort of damage control will come in and restore the historic pride of the Sailor blue....

hey true blllue, just read the history on the Port website. Appears Toffolo isn't going against his word, it clearly states
The pride and tradition of Port Colborne Jr. B hockey will continue to thrive in the 2004-05 hockey season with the dedication
of the coaching staff and the commitment of the volunteer staff along with the cities and its businesses support work to give the
players the best possible hockey environment in the Golden Horseshoe.
Nowhere does it state in the coming years, it just says 2004-05 and that was what he did. Maybe there is another paragraph with a font too small to read which stated, In 2005-06 and forward this will all be thrown out the window and the team beaten into the ground to have no semblance of its past glory. only way port has a chance against thorold tonight is to start sinacs he will be the best goalie in the league, i think if sinacs starts 30 games port will be a good team he is under rated he could be a allstar this year

Wouldn't it be nice if Port beats Thorold tonight. Just think, no cry baby Thorold fans on this thread for 3 or 4 days. St. Cath. did a great job of wipeing the feet on the Hawks Championship Banner, now come on Sailors, its your turn to shut em all up.
