Anyone have a list of players that stood out this weekend at the tourny?
I noticed a couple guys...obviously the risi, smud, falzoi line was great for thorold. For the canucks the younger guys like caliguiri and candeloro were impressive along with mackeown who absolutly hammered a bunch of guys in the games i saw.
anyone else have any input?

i,d have to agree....I saw all of the Thorold games and thought that Smud and Risi were the best players on the ice........I saw a few of the falls games Raine looked good and the last poster was right the Mackeown kid just destroyed people and scored a few nice goals too...Where was the Mackeown kid for the Thorold game? Also thought the goalie for Wheatield looked good believe it or not.

Hey observer:
I will agree with Risi, however Smud looked terrible. Alway's looking for the long bomb pass, came back once in a while. No doubt he is still in pre season mode.
Add Nathan Spaling to the best player's out there. This kid will be a tough player to slow down. Does it all!
Both goalies for Thorold, once again, top notch!

Is there anybody besides Thorold fans on this board... its getting really Tired...I think Risi is a fine hockey player but do we have to hear it everyday from the same guy...Falzoi is ok too but certainly not in the top 10 forwards in the league...Lets hear about some other players even if they are from Thorold

Your right. That's all you read about, because that's who they have.
Risi, Spaling and Smud are 3 of the top 6, with Risi and Spaling being 1-2 hands down.
You don't hear anything from the Falcons fan, although a good hockey team, they do not have a top player other than Hall.
Remember, top Center is Blinkhorn and he couldn't even make the Stratford Cullitans.
That's just the plain ole facts.

To Thorold Fan,
If you are a true Hawk fan why don't you concentrate on the good things about your team? All you ever yap about are the Canucks and Falcons. Why do you worry so much about them??Do they scare you ?
The only Hawk players you seem to know are Risi, Smud and Spaling. Is that because you read their names on this forum?
Have you ever gone to a jr. b game anywhere?
To the rest of the Hawk fans, brag about your team, you have the right to afterall they are the defending Sutherland Cup Champs.

Let's see:
Rick Miller- enough said Sutherland Cup ring
Sean Romanaukas- 3rd best goalie in league
Rob McLaren- solid Dman, won 3 Sutherland Cups in a row (2 w/Stratford and 1 w/ Thorold)
Chris Huneault- tough as nails, keeps everyone honest
Matt Canham- solid skater, moves the puck well plays bigger than his size
Tyler Brown- big Dman who played in Cambridge. Arguably can be a top 3 D in the league
I can go on and on, however, I don't want to waste your reading time about the mighty Hawks!

Thorold Fan, you really don't know anything about jr. b hockey.Chris Huneault tough as nails, ya right, he knows every tough guy in the league and stays miles away from them. Like the other guy said to you , go to a game just don't get all your hockey knowledge from this forum

thats why thorold has the sutherland cup and falcons are suffering. falcons put to much emphasis on depth for fighting when thorold has depth for hockey players.when thorold has a 1st or 2nd line guy go down, they can comfortably fill from below and not with guys with cement hands.

if your such a falcon fan you should know the number is 3 less than the falls, and you guys might get lucky and escape the golden horseshoe this year(most likely not) so the number remains 3 less than the falls and 1 less than thorold

i don't think falzoi is the type of player that needs to be in the top 5 of scoring in the league anyways, he has an all around game that plays such a vital role in winning hockey games, players like him are the reason why thorold won the sutherland cup championship last year

i think the best player in the tournment was ports goalie sinacac this kid can play niagara falls should think about getting this goalie in there camp he is the most under rated keeper in the league you may put the same breath as of martin brodeur i can't believe this kid is playing junior b he should be playing for the major junior a league i think he will lead port to the sutherland cup this year

McQuade is from Grimsby and played for the Hamilton Midgets last year.
He wanted to play in Thorold, however, they had no room for him as a 16 years old.
He is a highly skilled player that will one day, be a real good Jr.B player.
Good pick up!

If Sinasac was so good and under-rated why didn't he play Thorold in the semi-final game. He lost a 3-0 lead for port and Thorold won 4-3. He lost a 5-0 lead and lost 8-5. Why do you think Hubbard left. Don't tell me, the next Seals League MVP. He wouldn't see much ice time on any other team.
