I was able to attend the camp last night (tues. night) and a hell of a turnout it was! about 40-50 people out there plus i think about 6 or 7 goalies! Only problem is, i know most of the goalies and they are only 17 and 18 year old goalies even with 1 14 year old goalie and like 2 16 year old goalies! Only i'ds say 2 of them would be able to hang on to a BACKUP spot at the very most! Alot of vets returning looking good out there! I was very impressed with how good Anthony Candeloro and Nick Caliguri looked out there...they did a phenomenal job out there...other teams 3rd & 4th lines better look out! Captain Steve ludzik as well as assistant captain Matt Mackeowan were not out there...word had it ludzik was at an oshawa generals camp because thats where his rights were traded to by windsor last year and same with joe baldinelli...he was attending the guelph storm camp! Alot of big defenceman out there throwing their weight around and firing the puck which is nice to see! Word had it to that they have a guy coming in just to fight..nothing else but fight as he was banned from a jr.a league for causing to many fights!! With the returning talent and new talent i see, i see alot of potential and a good suthy cup run if the players can gel and they can pick up a siick goalie like the one they had last time they made the suty, Jason Chrapala!
PS: For anyone who was there and seen Missasauga Ice Dogs Jordan Owens on the ice..dont get ur hopes up...he was just out there for the ie and heads back to missasauga today (wed.)

The Canucks better bring in a fighter because there's not one guy returning from last year that could hold hisown.
I'm tired of going to games and see every time a Canuck player drops his gloves, his body usually follows.

That's great! Keep bringing in those big tough OHL'ers.
Same old news. Bring in OHL'ers that care only about the $ the Canucks will pay them and then once again, come playoff time, they are ousted by the Blackhawks.
I look forward to watching their big tough OHL Dman chasing around the high flying Blackhawks only to be sucking wind by the third periold.................... and then same result being outscored and skated into the ground by games end!

by the look of the players that the canucks have returning and the players that the canucks have brought in, I believe that it is their turn to take the league title from the blackhawks, they will be much improved from last season.

Although I am a huge Blackhawks fan, you may be right.
Goaltending will be their question mark, however, they have a while to find one. Knowing the Canucks, they will find a quality goaler.
The Canucks alway's bring these big slow, want to fight Dman and it alway's end's in the same result. My question is, why don't they start recruiting high transition type Dman that will compliment their high powered forwards?

A quick d man that would be a great asset to the team would be Jeff zatorski. i heard that he was coming to the canucks in a trade. this is a 20 year old that can get the puck to the forwards and set up plays on the powerplay. they need a guy like this to lead the defence core.

Good job on the report out 1 Canucks Reporter. Its good to see someone is attending camp and the games and will keep the fans updated on the prospects. Any chance of Ryan Ludzik coming back from Erie. Sounds like they will be in great shape if they get the goaltending.

Thanx alot Anon...i actually am doing canucks game reports for this site! =)
I've been a huge fan for many years and this year is looking promising! Ryan ludzik will not be back from erie cuz even if he gets cut, he'll be with their farm team!
And to you people who think these dmen the canucks are bringing in our gonna be big and slow..well i think you might have something coming for ya! There was a big guy out there about the size of francis and he looked to be skating awesome out there and rushing the puck as well as francis can and there were a couple others out there who were big (built big, not fat big) throwing kids around out there! gonna be a good year!

Boys good to hear that you guys are looking good but don't blow your own horns. I hope Terry gives you guys a chance to play this year. The Potts boy and the Macdonald boy looked very good and can also stick this year.

i hear that masterson expects big things from candelero and caliguri this year. by the looks of them at camp, they are more than ready to take on a heavy workload. they can both turn into big players in the league

caluguri is way to small and no he is not another chris risi. candeloro shows good potential but has to gain some weight.

canucks need to make some cuts and stop stringing half those kids along, we all know they don't have a chance at making it at all but masterson needs to use em for some exhibition games. Althought they are some pretty good players at the canucks camp and they will be the team to beat this year I think, them and thorold will again be the top 2 teams. The canucks have recruited well it seems.
