Can anyone confirm the "owning players rights" concerning the boundaries of any American Hockey Players wanting to try-out and play with a Canadian based team in the G.H.L. Is it true what the American born players are being told , that their playing rights are owned by the Blades and that if the player wants to play in Canada they must be given their outright release or that the Canadian based team would have to work out a player movement deal with the Blades ?? I would think that the Blades would "own the playing rights" to any player that has played the previous season in Wheatfield , or in their minor hockey system ONLY . Also , it would make sense that Wheatfield would have an "import" boundary ", meaning any player , both American or Canadian living outside a certain " district " would be classified as an import to them. Does anyone know if such a rule exists for them , since all other teams in the league are only allowed to dress 7 such players ? Thank you for any help on this topic.
