OHL to Web Cast Priority Selection on Saturday
Created: Apr 30, 2008
The Ontario Hockey League is taking the next step in providing coverage of the 2008 OHL Priority Selection.
The first three rounds of this year's event, which will take place this Saturday beginning at 9:00 a.m., will be covered via video Webcast available exclusively at www.ontariohockeyleague.com.
Eligible players and their families as well as fans and media of the OHL will have the opportunity to follow the proceedings live during the Webcast, which will be hosted by Terry Doyle of OHL News Radio Edition.
Doyle will be joined on the Webcast by Wayne Clark, coach of the OMHA champion Peterborough Petes minor midgets and Windsor Spitfires' graduate Bill Bowler, a coach with the Toronto Young Nats minor midgets.
"This Web cast will give our prospective players and their families unprecedented inside access to the OHL Priority Selection," said OHL Commissioner David Branch. "The OHL Priority Selection is one of the most important things that we have on our hockey calendar. This is where we have the opportunity to identify and select the players that will quickly become the stars of our league. We are looking forward to augmenting our coverage of the OHL Priority Selection with this new Webcast on Saturday."
The OHL changed formats for the Priority Selection in 2001 and has conducted the process online ever since.
Doyle has been hosting a live audio show online during the Priority Selection for the past several years and with the new video Webcast format, he will have an even greater opportunity to provide information about the players that are selected during the first three rounds.
