With there backs up against the wall and needing to win by large margins against both teams, does this mean Thorold will actually start shooting the puck as they cross the blueline??? Getting the first shot on net and feasting on rebounds is the only way to rack up a score. Passing hasn't won many championships, and if the three teams end up tied 2 - 2 Thorold will be the odd man out without some goal production.

I believe you are wrong Obwan.. If three teams are tied the best goals against decides 1st place...There is a tie breaker game .. Round-robin tiebreaker procedures:
If three teams tied: Team with highest goal ratio* is awarded first place and advances to final with home-ice advantage. Team with next best goal ratio hosts tie-breaker game against remaining team. Winner advances to final, loser eliminated.
If two teams tied for first: Those two teams advance to final. Team with highest goal ratio gets home-ice advantage.
If two teams tied for second: First place team advances to final with home-ice advantage. Those two teams play tie-breaker game hosted by team with higher goal ratio. Winner advances to final.
*Goal ratio = [GF]/[GF+GA]

The Hawks face a MUST WIN situation tomorrow night. Lose and they're out. No need to be concerned about any goal ratio's now. Get a WIN to keep their playoff hopes alive. If Elmira comes out hammering them like they did on Sunday, it will be a long night for the Blackhawks. Thorold better go on the offensive and come out hitting when the first puck drops.

Hubbert said in the paper that Ward will not play unless he is 100%. If so the team has a much better chance at advancing. He has been practicing. You can see that in the picture in the Standard last night. Good luck Hawks, a win on Friday almost guarantees a spot in at least a playoff with Elmira next week.
