New Name & New Coach to be annouced Wed. according to Welland Tribune.
Port Colborne "Pirates" and to be coached by ??....any one have a guess?

Kevin I would ask that this member be removed and that an investigation be lanched to find out this persons real name as I will be charging him or her for the remarks.

Wasn't there supposed to be an announcement Wednesday about whom the new coach is ?? Does anyone know yet  Way to go Tim , you've got us all on the edge of our seats now , so break the news to us , "the new coach of the Port Colborne Pirates is -------- -------- " . |

WOW some folks are in a really nasty mood lately, - is it because the hockey season is almost over ? The tribune has the article about the pirates new name, but no mention of a new coach - perhaps final decisions are still in play!

And what is with the Pirates? When I was down in Welland, they were the Sailors and had that ugly duck logo on their sweaters. When did they change to the Pirates, or is this recent?

Why is everyone bashing Port Colborne all the sudden? They had a bad season last year because of the coaching problems with Charrios. Barnes did a good job with what he had to work with. Sometimes in this league we forget about the more important thing in all of this, advancements. Curtis Longland will be playing with the Barrie Colts next year and 3 other players advanced to NCAA programs. The season before Port Colborne was a contender and hopefully they can rebound. Best of luck Mr. Toffolo, I don't know why all the sudden bashing of Port Colborne has come up. And if you all " don't care " about Port Colborne, posting like this says a lot about your lives haha, and no I don't play for Port Colborne or am not a Port Colborne native or fan. If anyone deserves bashing it's Wheatfield. They wouldn't even win the Jr. C league.

gameface and or t toffolo you are one and the same as you have responded in this post.Who do think you are kidding!The Sailors have been in the Port Colborne community for ever and for you to change the name is a big mistake. All the children That I have talk to are heart broken as they have all bought Sailors sweaters and hats and wear them proudly as per their minor hockey teams.I think you should of polled the community before you deface them.You are making a big mistake for your personal gain.

mia....totally agree with that post i am from port colborne....and grew up watchin the sailors....they were always the sailors and should still be.....also head coach is the goalie coach from last year....and all the old sailor jersey's so i heard are being donated to the juvy team in port haha donated i doubt it tim with probably sell them just so he can have some more money in his pocket

I dont see what the big deal is. Ports starting fresh with a clean slate new coach, new assistants and a new name, which in my opinion is great, the "PC Pirates" is a much better name. Not sure what these coaches are like so i don't know what they can bring to the table, I guess we will see. And as for all of the fans buying sailor merchandise its not really a big deal. The hockey club is still in PC, so rep the vintage apparrel haha. This could be good for Port, look good, feel good, play good, maybe they can come back with a good season this year, lets wait and see.
