What a day. I was invited to the season ticket holder skate by a friend who had a few extra season tickets and no one who wanted to go for a skate. Me and my son had a great time and the players were great. We got a tour of the Icedogs dressing room. All I can say is that one look at the cramped dressing room and you can see why a new arena is needed. Must be the smallest dressing room in the league.
After the skate was the skills competition that was open to all. I would say 1000-1200 showed up and the players put on quite a show. You can really see how the Icedogs are trying to put on a first class show for the fans. Its really nice to have such a great organization in the region.

My daughter, her friends, my wife and I all went to both events and had a great time! The players were very good with all the kids on the ice (and adults), signing autographs, having their pictures taken, and playing with the kids.
The skills competition was awesome! Swift is the fastest, Pietrangelo has the hardest shot, and Dahm is very much an entertainer: he took a penalty shot on Lobsinger, and hit 2 of 4 targets on the shooting accuracy drill!
The 3 on 3 mini-game was extremely entertaining. Legein and Pietrangelo put on a clinic. Some of these guys are incredible magicians with the puck.
It was a great way to spend a few hours on Family Day!

--We in St. Catharines and the Niagara Region are very fortunate to have the Icedogs become a proactive and positive influence on the youth of our communities. ( as demonstrated yesterday) .Thanks for making a great city even greater and for putting us back on the map as a major location for the best junior hockey in the world.--
