New player Mike MacIsaac did not really impress me last night. Don't get me wrong he isn't a bad player. I would say he would fit nicely on the 4th line. There is no way he should be playing on the second line and playing on the powerplay. I would think he would be moved back to the 3rd or 4th line once they get Aggozino, Legein or Sanderson back.

He has been playing in Tier 2 most of the season so it may take him a few games to get use to the faster play of the OHL. I heard he is a sniper (54 goals last year) so maybe the powerplay is exactly where he should be.

So why put him on the powerplay if he is not use to this league yet. Move him to the third line, let him get use to the better players and see what he can do. If he earns it, move him to the second line and on the powerplay. As it is now, they are just assuming he is good enough for the powerplay.

He picked up two assist and he did not backdown against any of the Sooo players. The whole team seem to be shy last night in shooting the puck esp. on the powerplay.

I was at the game the other nite. He did a good job, better then most of the players that have been there all year. The coach wanted to see how he would fit in on the PP, why not give him a try, why wait its almost february. Two assists and a near goal, it wont take too long to step up from tier 2, its not that much better. Take away the top 3 or 4 players and major A is on par with the elite Tier 2 teams. The goalie on the other hand blew it bigtime, and the powerplay was horrible, giving up a shorty.... 2 men up. Face it that ice surface is a joke for this level, no room at all. Their forwards are smaller and cant take the rough going.

5 games and only 1 assist. I guess he needs even more powerplay time to get use to this league. I don't think that Drummondville could even trade MacIssaac to another QMJHL team, as I don' t think their was any interest from the other teams. Then when the IceDogs claimed him off waivers, all the teams below the IceDogs (about 10 of them) had to pass on him before the IceDogs could sign him. Now he plays on their second unit. Come on. Either Brown is the GM of the century for seeing what all the other GM's did not or the IceDogs are woefully bad at judging talent. Again, he is a solid 3rd or 4th line player, but not a player who should be on the second line and the powerplay. That is just bad coaching.

Watching last nites game on TV, it appears that MacIsaac has now been removed from the 2nd line and replaced with Bergeron. The result was 3 goals and 2 assists for Foreman, 3 assists for Desousa and a goal and assist for Bergeron. Hopefully this line stays together as they were on fire last nite.
