A post on the OHL forum is stating that goalie Andrew Loverock was traded to Sudbury for overage goalie Sebastian Dahm.

Wow! That's breaking news and it could give the Dogs the goalie who can steal them a few games. He was pretty darn good last time he was in the Jack.
Legend, what the heck are you babbling about??

If this posting or thread has any truth to it? ?---- This IMO surely indicates how worthless Mr. Brown is as a General Manager!!!!!--- With 2 goalies already on the roster after trading Loverock why would you waste an overage spot for another goalie? What is happening with Lobsinger? ? If he is day to day as the posting indicated here we have 3 goalies again and Volpe is our future so play him now and play him often!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hey Mr. Brown we need a goal scorer!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wake up!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like this trade and I hate this trade I like it because i like Dahm. I hate it because Dahm is an Overage and we are not going to win the OHL this year.

Apparently the trade is not a done deal yet and involves additional players.

It appears there is some speculation that the Wolves are also getting a low draft pick (2nd round?) and Gilbert. Are we sacrificing our future to win an extra couple games this year. I hope not.

Hey Mr. Brown we need a goal scorer!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wake up!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hold on a minute here. This is a definite improvement in our goaltending. Volpe may be our goalie for the future, but he sure isn't the go-to-guy right now. Lobsinger hasn't played in what, a full year? And say he does come back in 2 weeks, there's absolutely no way that any player or goalie can come back with that kind of layoff and be game ready. It would take close to a month before he MIGHT be at the top of his game... And by then it may be too late. As far as Loverock, I like the guy as a goalie, but he has proven to be inconsistent, and he has yet to steal a game for us. In order to win some playoff games, you need your goalie to be able to steal a few. Having said this, yes we still need a goal scorer, but depending on what else we may have to give up in this trade, it looks like we have improved our position.

I think its a nice move. Dahm took Sudbury deep into OHL finals last year and hopefully he can step up again this year. Possibly moving on into the next round of the playoffs will fill the building and gain fans for next year. The only question remaining is what draft pick will be given up.

I like the trade Dahm stoled the game for Sudbury last time they were in town .Loverock was up and down this season let in a few weak goals I belive the Ice Dogs over played him at times. Loosing Van Laren might hurt but with Gilbert in the background we should be all right. I wish all players involved in the trade good luck with their new teams.

Its done. The trade goes as follows...
Dahm to Niagara Loverock, Van Laren, 3rd round on '09 and a 6th round in '10 to Sudbury
A good deal. The price for players is very high this season, but if things cycle the way they should we won't miss the 09 and 10 picks. With a good draft this year we can fill the holes we'll have in '09. I also like the signing of MacIsaac. He'll bring some toughness.

The IceDogs only have 7 defencemen, so who replaces VanLaren. Gilbert perhaps? Also, I am not sure about the MacIsaac signing. If he was Major Junior material, why didn't Drummondville of the QMJHL keep him or even trade him. Sounds like he was released from Drummondville and signed with the IceDogs as a free agent. I think he will be a 4th line, 19 year old. Is that really smart? Why not bring up a young kid who has a future with the Dogs and let him play the 4th line to develop.

Mr. Positive here!! Looks like Brown is trying to save his own (edit) in the short term, while giving up some guys who will be in the league for awhile. He is Dahm good and could win a few games, but all the chips are now on table. If the Dogs make it past a couple of rounds, things have worked, if they don't, Brown and his staff will be looking for jobs in the Shoe!!
