Agreed, Volpe had a very good game. He sure kept his team in there; made some solid saves and a few on some great rebound opportunities for O.S. He absolutely looked like he belonged out there. I would have had no problem with him being named 1st star!
Corrente completely destroyed the O.S. player in his second fight. Poor kid sat in the box with a completely blank look on his face staring in front of him!
I thought Caputti also played very well, he created many scoring chances. Pietrangelo played ok. Legein was a no-show.
Overall pretty entertaining game for all!

Corrente played a great game until the third period. The kid is an absolute moron. The first fight was excusable, although not necessary and he did start it. The second one he will be suspended for since it was a secondary fight. He instigated it and the kid he was fighting if you'd call it that, was hanging on for dear life looking like he wanted no part of the scrap. Not smart, this team needs him on the ice.
Caputi was awesome, not his most productive game but definitely the most energy he's showed. He was really skating hard every shift and getting and creating chances all game. I thought he should have been the first star.
Fletcher played his best game. He was a force in the defensive zone. Not usually a big fan of his but I have to give the big man his due.
Someone has to talk to Swift, his attitude is embarrassing. Slapping his stick on the ice and showing up his teammates when they don't pass him the puck is no way for a captain to act. He caused two brutal turnovers by yelling at teammates to pass him long, ill advised passes. You can see them trying to force the puck to him even when it doesn't make much sense.
Traccitto is quickly becoming a fan favorite with his bone crushing hits. He was strong once again. His line with Friessen and MacEachern had a nice outing.
Aggozino was the odd man out today. Not really sue why. They went with 3 lines
Merret-Foreman-Caputi DeSousa-Swift-Sanderson Traccitto-Friessen-MacEachern
Agozzino and Sisca hardly played.

The kid that was hanging on for dear life VS Corrente was the same kid that had no problem pounding on Swift when he was at the bottom of the scrum. Corrente did what any good team mate would do....he came to his defence. I am glad he stood up for his smaller team mate. It's about time the Dogs showed some toughness and actually pounded on their opponent instead of getting pounded on.
I think for being the secondary fight it's an automatic two games.

i asked the coach and he said the same thing..... standing up for a teammate was why corrente got involved in the latter...

For the record I'm (edit) at him for not being able to play even 1 game without getting suspended, not for beating up the guy he was fighting. The kid is a ticking time bomb. It's too bad because he played a fantastic game for 2 and a half periods. That one on one play mid way through the second when he crushed his man into the end boards was a thing of beauty.

Volpe played great which I think begs the question who will play on Thursday. Second question, why hasn't Volpe seen action before today, especially since Loverock has struggled some games.

You're right Dogman, its a question all Icedogs fans are asking right now. The team was going stale and some sort of spark was needed and we got one in goal. Why did it take that long for some sort of change? I like Loverock but I think he needs some competition for his position. He was letting in the soft goal down on his knees each game which was killing them. Volpe seems faster and more accrobatic. The defence were up for the challenge, playing well for him and tightening things up in their own end. Looking forward to seeing him in net against Erie come Thursday.

Yesterday was my first opportunity to see Mr. Corrente play an actual game at the Jack!!!!!!!!!!! Trust me I am a season's ticket holder and I swear it was the first time-----and pleasantly surprised would be an understatement for the quality of hockey that this young man can play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is solid, quick a foot and soft hands ----what a find that is to be sure----BBBBBBBUUUUTTTTT-----all that talent is gone to waste by picking meaningless tassles with smaller opposition to get his jollies and then earn another suspension----get this----what is the quickest way to the NHL-----trying to avoid injury and loss of potential NHL success----I know this kid has been picked by New Jersey and that he was a late send down----the kid knows his stock and I know this is a quantum leap but-----1---10 game suspension----(no threat of hurt and injury when suspended----saving the bones for the pros----then again yesterday----two soft fights----earning another possible 2 games off-----at this pace Matt could possibly dress for 15 games and suspended for 30 plus games at his choosing depending on his state of mind -----always getting closer to his NHL career but not helping the IceDogs----I do believe either the parent club---New Jersey or IceDog Management need to take this kid aside and address his value not in the stands observing but stand tall, solid, speedy and rock like on the IceDog defence----Just as an aside-----I see alot of Matt Corrente in RRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEGGGGGGGGGGGGGIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Tracciuto----minus the needless fights----just Mr. Dependable and Solid----so there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Legein had the "flu" that comes around in most young people's lives when they turn 19.

I noticed that he did not play in the ADT game in Sudbury. Was he still sick or did the team prevent him from going, as punishment for missing Sundays game?
