I just checked the standings on the OHL website and it says that the Majors have only played 2 games thus far, the one being against Niagara. Why have the Majors played such few games.
I think this game will be much closer and more intense than the opener when Niagara won 4-1. Hopefully we get a big crowd but I am not sure about Thursday night games. I remember that the Thunder only drew 1400-1900 on Thursday nights. I wonder if the IceDogs will fair any better with weeknight games.

Yes I think Thursdays will be a low draw for them. Then again, with football on Sundays I don't think that that is a great game day either. I know the IceDogs were forced to take the St. Mikes schedule as the OHL schedule was already completed before the move to Niagara. Personally, I think Fridays are the best night for going to a hockey game.

I really don't think St. Mike has a good team this year. The missed the playoffs last year and are only marginally better this year. On the other hand, the IceDogs have gotten better since the home opener with players such as Foreman, Meritt and Corente back in the line-up. I say IceDogs by 4 or 5 goals.

I think that they will have a pretty big crowd for tonights game. I see from the article on this site that tonites game is Niagara this Week night. What does that mean. Are they giving something out for free? The ad in the paper says the game was walk a mile in a women's shoes night. What is that? I guess they couldn't advertise Niagara this Week night in the Standard or Review newspaper. ;D

Well I was right IceDogs by 4 in a 7-3 win. A lot of fighting in this game. Hopefully the player taken away by ambulance for St. Mikes is OK. I always hate seeing that.
Just under 2500 in attendance for this game. I don't think that is too bad for a Thursday, although I was hoping for a bit more given that both the Public and Catholic schools have a PD day tomorrow.

The game was not played at the same level as the other home games so far, but still entertaining for the most part.
Legien has to stay out of the box, he's far too valuable on the ice to be wasting away in there.
Caputi didn't have the same energy level he usually does, but made a few beautiful long tape to tape passes.
Swift still needs a line mate, Bergeron is not the answer, although he did play his best game.
The third and fourth lines looked good when they got in there. Agozzino looks better every game. He's been much more physical and is skating harder the last few outings.
Their D is a little shallow. It's not a problem right now but they could use at least 1 more decent one down the line. An injury to one of the top 4 would cause some problems, although Sanderson did not look out of place back there.
I really like some of the energy guys like Desousa and Sanderson. Both guys bring there lunch pail to every game.
Foreman has looked good. He looks like a lot better offensive player than his stats from last year would suggest. He plays a nice all around center and is not afraid to get his nose dirty.
