Was not in the lineup tonight and I've heard hes been sent home to await a trade. Not a good situation for the dogs, OA's are hard enough to trade let alone ones who take up an import spot. Tough situation for the dogs, it'll be hard to get value for him. Hopefully things can be ironed out as he's a top 6 forward.

Not sure why he didn't play, but OHL.com says he was born in Sudbury. I don't think he's an import.

If a player does not want to pull the team line, then this is a good move. I do not want to pretend at what happened, but Brown knows what he is doing. OA or not.

He has indeed been sent home to await a trade.

The paper today says they are in no hurry to trade him, even though Beljo is in a big hurry to be traded. Will they be able to get a comparable player for Beljo, given that he is an overager.

Most Niagara fans haven't seen him play so there won't be a big stink about him sitting in Sudbury. My guess is he sits awhile until equal value comes up. Most teams won't give up a 30 goal scorer with another year or two left so it might end up OA'r for OA'r.

Anyone know why he was sent home?
He may not fetch a lot in a trade but I'm sure there are plenty of free agent overagers that they could pick up to replace him. It would be nice if they could find a way to get Lawrence back from the AHL but I'm sure that's a pipe dream at this point.

Apparently he was making demands and Brown (IceDogs GM) felt that it was in the best interest of the team to send him home.

Well we have a wish list for the arena, how about a wish list for the team. Who should Beljo be traded for. Anyone have any names floating around. Also should they try to trade for another forward, a defenceman or a goalie. I think we need another forward as it appears to be the weakest element on the team - and its really not that weak compared to other teams.

How about a forward with some size. Somebody you can park in front of the net to screen the goalie and cash in some garbage goals. Icedogs have enough smallish speedy forwards.

Yes a big forward who can get in the corners and muck it up would be nice.
