Mike McCourt, the former owner, general manager and head coach of the Brockville Braves has just signed a three-year deal to be the assistant coach with the Niagara Ice Dogs. Full Story Here

This site certainly is first when it comes to news. Neither the Standard nor the Icedogs website makes any mention of the new assistant coach.

This site certainly is first when it comes to news. Neither the Standard nor the Icedogs website makes any mention of the new assistant coach. Yes, Kevin and others on this site do a good job scouring the web looking for little tidbits of news. The internet seems to be the best way to get info on the IceDogs since the local papers don't seem to take it quite as seriously as the long suffering OHL fans around here. I'm really disappointed with the Standard. I know it's not hockey season but this team is one of the best things that has happened around here since the Niagara Falls Thunder and the coverage IMO has been sparse. I guess they don't call it the sub-Standard for nothing. I am a little surprised, though that the IceDogs site as yet has no mention of this news. Hmmm.
