Anyone know which rink they will play at. Hopefully its the main rink as the others are quite limited in seating. Also, will their import players be there?

I believe it will be held at the main pad (1500 seats). I don't think import players are invited to the rookie camp. They will go directly to the main camp at the end of August. But I have heard there are often a few fights that break out as the kids try to impress the coaches.

So I went to the IceDogs Rookie game today and had a good time. There appeared to be quite a difference in the ability of the players. Some looked much better than Jr. B calibre while others would have difficulty making a Jr. B team. I guess that is because of few players played tier 2 Jr. A last year and played in a handful of IceDog games as call-ups, while some other players played midget last year and were only 15 years old. I was told that only 3 or 4 players from the Rookie camp will actually make the team this year. The 15 year olds will play Jr. B or Tier 2 Jr. A this coming season and then try out again next July. The thing that did impress me was that the few players that seemed much better than Jr. B calibre will most likely make the team as 4th liners. If those players are 4th liners, then I can't wait to see what a first line OHL player is like!

I would strongly recommend for those of you who missed it today to take in the game Sunday at noon.

I thought that the talent level was very high, but some of the younger players lacked experience. Does anyone know how many of these players will make the training camp in September? I don't ever remember the Thunder having a rookie camp in the summer. I believe all the players were invited to the regular fall training camp. Why do they feel the need to have a rookie camp now as it appear all OHL teams now do this?

I was at the camp today and was impressed by the talent. I thought that local kid Friesen (#6 in White) really did a good job and has worked himself onto the training camp roster and maybe even a shot at making the team. On the down side I noticed that Agazzino (the 1st round pick) left the game early. If you didn't get to Saturdays workout I'd recommend going Sunday at noon.

Agozzino played a lot on Sunday and played well. For a small player, he had a few good hits. Very fast with a decent shot. Will be interesting to see how he plays against players that are 3-4 years older than him, assuming he makes the team.

To Anybody who went:
Could you please make a list of say around 10 or so players that you feel really stood out to you and really deserve a shot at making this team.??
