Last night, St. Kitts city council approved the sale of alcohol in the stands at the Ice dogs games. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this will mark the first time that beer is served in the stands at the Gatecliff Rink.

Is it common for beer to be served in the stands in the OHL? First time I heard of this.

I've been to Guelph a few times in the past couple years, and they sell beer (Sleemans, go figure).

Several OHL arenas I have been to allow it. Not sure if they all do. As long as people are not getting drunk, I don't have a problem with it.

I know both the Niagara Falls Canucks and the St. catharines Falcons sell beer, but it is limited to a beer room. I think it may be the first time any rink in Niagara had allowed alcohol in the stands. But I think its pretty common in the OHL.

Imagine if they sold beer in the stands in Welland!!! LOL!! Oh My!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D As a beer lover, Welland resident and Jr. Canadians fan, I to think it's best for the Welland Arena to keep beer out of the arena! ....The police presence at the arena would have to be doubled...haha As for Beer at the Ice Dogs games, I ain't against it and I know I would enjoy one at the game, but as we all know in all sporting events that allow beer in the stands, there is always one of them drunks that need to cause a rukus. When I am at Hamilton Bulldogs games or Toronto Blue Jays games, I occasionally see people go get security to take care of the individual and the drunk is always removed from their seats, it is a no tolerance to policy and as long as the same is policed at the Ice Dogs games then it shouldn't be a problem, and maybe the a-hole will realize that he wasted his ticket admission getting drunk and getting kicked out.
