Mississauga News reporter Gary McCarthy has just been hired as the director of communications and media operations for the Niagara IceDogs. Many of you who have followed the IceDogs saga have probably read McCarthy's Big Dog Blog on the Mississauga News website. (Many of the IceDogs headlines on LocalSportsReport.com linked to an entry in McCarthy's blog.) McCarthy will certainly be a big asset for the IceDogs as they settle into the Niagara market.
Its funny but last night, I was talking to a friend about how McCarthy had not written anything for the Mississauga News for a few weeks now and that it appeared he was no longer working there as a reporter. My friend commented that perhaps McCarthy was going to come down here and stay involved with the IceDogs. Good call!
