Today the OHL Board of Governors approved the sale of the Mississauga IceDogs to Bill Burke and also approved the transfer of the franchise to Niagara. Its a done deal now.

YES! YES! YES! Now it's time to show up to the arena and prove what kind of Hockey mad Region this really is. And maybe with enough support, we will see that new arena in a few years!

I always thought it would be approved but it sure is nice when the official word comes in. Season tickets are next on my agenda. Its too bad this couldn't have been official a few months ago. I would have enjoyed going to Mississauga to see the IceDogs play and get to know the players a little.

I've been an Icedog season ticket holder since day one, I kept all my info for all those years, if you want to know anything perhaps I can help.
Enjoy the team, they are very entertaining to watch and cheer for.

I watched the Icedogs play last year. They break out of their end so fast and go to the net hard... its going to blow fans away on the smaller Gatecliff ice surface. Nice to have such a talented team. Fans should show up and show how the Region supports hockey.

Willyboy, who will the players to watch be for the upcoming season. I also heard they have a young defencemen who is projected to be a 1st rounder this year. What is he like to watch.

He is planning a fansite, he just got a host and another friend starting to design the site. The homepage should be up soon. The IceDogs official site will apparently will be at .net |

That seems very underhanded to me. When fans go to Niagaraicedogs.com, they will expect the official site, not a fan site. If the information that people want is not there, such as ticket prices, phone numbers, schedule, they will not be happy. It could really hurt the dogs. Your friend may have the best intentions, but this will no doubt hurt the dogs chances of being successful. Plus, if your friend registered the name after Burke announced the new name of the Ice dogs he could be sued as well. Why not give up the .com to the Ice dogs but keep the .ca for the fan site.

I would agree that this is not right. If he really is a fan, he should release the name to the Ice Dogs.
