Well I don't think they pack the house like that again, that is as full as I have seen it. What a scene, 2 deep at least and sometimes more, stairs full even, crazy. If they get half of that in the Suthy they'll be happy. ...filling the barn to capacity and really making that place rock last night!!!!!!!! The cheering & chanting really created a great competitive atmosphere. It was really fun to be there!!! Keep that spirit going in the Suthy Cup. You know the visiting teams will come in and be loud...we need to drown them out!!!

just a question - how much did thorold have to pay the fire department to get that kind of attendance good for the hawks and falcons for drawing such huge crowds. shows there's a lot of passion in the area however, I know some people who were all the game who said the were some serious safety concerns with twice times the number of fans in the barn as permitted by fire code i guess even firefighters have a price? the crowd was listed as 2300 on PS, but from what I hear is was way more than that

hey tool ... my understanding is that the fire dept here works on a complaint base enforcement... after fridays game there was a complaint and the chief was at Mondays game and he est. the crowd at 2200... which is 500 over ... word is that the owners have been warned 1753 and thats all or they will clear the building...
even past the safety issues... if you are four rows back in standing room what could you see (for $8) ??!!!
The owners of the team are well aware of the seating cap. of the arena and took a change they would not get caught...
2 years ago they were counting ever ticket up to 1753 ... but the almighty dollar took over and they released 300 more tickets at 6pm... even though they knew it would be over and those last 300 folks would have no change at seeing anything of the game...
there was also a rumor around town that as the Mayor was or is the treasure of the team... something was said to the fire dept about not attending the game... I was told today that this rumor was not true and the the fire dept only acted monday due to a complaint after fridays game...

I seen the firefighters there, but I don't think they had to pay the $8 so they shut their mouths. I was two rows deep and it was hard to see but it was still electric. Sad post Tool, you sound like a crybaby sometimes.

sphinc: it was a legitimate post. i'm happy for all involved. as I said, the people I know that were there said it was an amazing game... especially if you had a large enough bladder and didn't have to go to the washroom for fear of someone snagging your spot. great series, two great teams, great fan attendance... great, great, great however, i wonder what you'd be saying if a) you weren't a thorold fan, or b) someone got injured. i'm pretty sure you'd be running a river of tears and please sphinc - the trailer trash English "i seen the firefighters there" my god man, if you're gonna offer an opinion, try and formulate your sentences with proper grammar. QC - thanks for offering some insight. i heard the same thing for the poor souls that paid $8 to stand four rows deep. hey - both teams will have a nice wad of coin to start next season with.

btw- Just the Facts - we'd kill for 1/10th of that crowd however, i can tell you from experience that the arena capacity rules are strictly enforced in the City of Hamilton a few years back, when we hosted a junior team from the czech republic, the arena attendants threatened to call the fire department as we neared the 700 capacity at valley park. as they are unionized employees, they made it very clear they would follow rules by the book.

OK Mr.PerfectGrammar, you are sad case who lives up to his name no matter what the real purpose of it is. You are simply a tool! I did not see anyone scared for their lives on Monday and your concerns are reaking of jealousy and spite. Thorold won and your still up the Creek, live with it or move.

Next year when I see an attendance over 200 in the Creek I'm filing a complaint. For two reasons, one the rink doesn't look like it could hold more than 150, secondly, I don't think that many would ever come out to watch a game in the Creek.

sphinc: the tool thing is old... really. it's just tough to respect someone's opinion when they don't care about basic grammar and english. sorry, just my opinion. i'm happy for thorold... if you don't believe me, that's your issue man. i was just pointing out a concern. god forbid i mention anything negative about the blackhawks... we all know they walk on water.... that is until this past weekend. and as for being up the creek... pretty sure Mr. Davidson is a born and bred Creeker. do you hate him as well? really is a shame about thorold... i thought they would show better

LOL tapeball. good one man. touche! i never capitalize. as vince carter would say, "it's over-rated" i don't hate you either sphinc. i am happy for thorold and the organization. seems like a good group of guys from what I've met. and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't jealous of their championship but I think we all are and it was a good season for the hawks. i was just raising a point for discussion. really, i couldn't give a rat's behind. as for being hot, i'm cool as a cucumber my friend. i got nothing to be hot about. i hope the hawks can rebound over the final two games of the RR.

Let me help you again tool, it's Allen Iverson and it's "practice!, We are talking about practice!, I don't need to go to stinking practice!" Thorold has a mountain to climb now co matter how you slice it. I would say they beat the crap out of each other (Thorold/St.Kitts) but the games I was at I don't remember any great or even good hits, I think Thorolds D-men might be getting wacked around for a change and have to man up or tee it up.
