Names on jerseys

Can anyone tell me why the Canucks and the Black Hawks have the players names on the back of the jersey but the Falcons don't.

The names on the back give the teams a much more professional look and obviously make it a lot easier for the fans to recognize the players on the ice. I guess the only downfall might be a decline in program sales on Friday nights................................ Ok.......wait, never mind. Answered my own question

I guess they decided to copy the Falcons over thirty years later!! In 1977, the Falcons were the first and only team to have their names on the back of their jerseys in the 'Shoe.

Did I really answer it? Is that the real reason? If it is it's kind of sad. I put that as a humourous way to perhaps call out someone within the Falcons organization to answer the question.

I hope someone from the Falcons will read this and at least acknowledge that it is something they will possibly look into for next season.

I know their goal is for fans to come every Friday and soon you'll know the names to the number by memory. However, for people who can't make it all the time it's real annoying having to continually check the program.

I'm sorry to say this but during warm-up I watched a professional looking Thorold team adorned with names and number at one end and what looked like a house league team at the St. Catharines end.

Maybe the players parents can chip in and get some for next year!

the thinking is that names on sweaters promotes individualism and no names promotes the team concept that we are all one. i think this is an important concept for kids to learn but having said that , they learn that in their early years. they should know this already at this level and should be allowed to have their names on. alot of kids are scouted at this level and if they play like individuals thet are going nowhere anyway.

If the excuse is the "we are one", "we are a team" arguement then, please, immediately cancel the 3 star selection as this clearly promotes one kid over another.

Have the 2 star selection- First star, everyone on the winning team- Second star, everyone on the losing team

I love the idea of names on the back of the jerseys, but I also think it's time for the Falcons to upgrade those uniforms or at least take off the red multi stripe on the arms... other then that they look pretty good!!
