No heat on in the first period when the Arena is cold...Then turned on in the 1st intermission and left blazing until the end of the game!!!!!
Brutal...because by the time it was turned on, the Arena had warmed up due to the capacity crowd on hand.
Brutal...because with a full house and warmer outside temps the ice becomes soft and has wet patches in the 3rd period when the heat is left on too long.
Brutal...because of the waste of energy and taxpayers' money. Thorold Council and Thorold taxpayers should be outraged!!!!!!!!
SMARTEN UP!!! With a full house, the heat should be turned OFF after the 1st period!!!!
And under no circumstances should it be left on past the end of the second period!!!!!

Wow, simmer down meteoroligist. The Arena guys door is by the front and all the guys are pretty cool you could have asked them at anytime. They probably left it on because of people like you bitching. Your post seems a little stupid too, like everyone showed up after the first period and made it warmer?! If it was capacity to start, according to you it should have been warm to right away.

Point taken, Guru. If you're sitting in front of one of the heaters, there's about a 90 degree temp. change when they switch them on.

Do I have to explain everything to you twice? ???By the time the first period ended, all those bodies had been in the Arena long enough tonight to warm it up, so that putting on the heat when they did, was a waste!!!!!!!!!!! If I have to go and tell them how to do their job, why are they collecting their paycheques every week ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Amazing that'll you'll spend the time to whine here but you would not move you arse to another spot in the arena or ask one of the arena guys to cut the heat. Guys like you make excuses instead of making a difference.

Guys like you make excuses instead of making a difference. The problem is that politicians make a lot of public statements about what a great job they are doing on conservation and "greening" EVERYTHING, but the reality is what we experienced last night...the public employees who are supposed to carry out the plan are not listening and/or don't care. As I already posted: If I have to go and tell them how to do their job, why are they collecting their paycheques every week !?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I'm definatley not Handley and you are miles from funny guru, in fact you sound like a self-righteous sphincter yourself. Don't use being Italian as an excuse, I have amazing neighbours, all Italians.

Now that is a valid complaint! The sound has stunk forever and the pennies they have put into improving it has not helped. You can understand Charlie Brown's teacher easier.

--Come on, enough is enough. The heating and sound system could be better but so what. It's the Thorold Arena and it is what it is. A 25 or 30 year old arena that was built with 1920 requirements in mind. Just go there and enjoy the game. There's probably only one more game to play in Thorold then the rest of the Sutherland Cup games can be enjoyed at the friendly and warn confines of the JACK.--

Did I say Italian?? I believe I said MEDITERRANEAN...last time I checked a map there were more countries on the Med. Sea than just Italy.
