I found this in the Rochester newspaper:
The tentative home opener for the American Basketball Association Rochester Razorsharks is at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, against an opponent to be determined. ... The Razorsharks will play most of their 36-game regular-season schedule against Connie Hawkins Division rivals Buffalo Rapids, Northeast Pennsylvania (Scranton/Wilkes-Barre) Breakers, Maryland Nighthawks (Rockville) and Niagara Daredevils (St. Catharines, Ontario). ... Point guard Brian Dux (Canisius) decided to sign with Buffalo instead of Rochester. The Rapids also have signed former NBA player Trevor Ruffin, 7-foot-1 center Shaban Badran from Egypt and point guard Tim Winn (St. Bonaventure). ... The Razorsharks have topped 100 in season ticket sales. ... Montreal's ABA team will be the Matrix. Jerome Williams of the New York Knicks is a co-owner.
So Rochester has a season ticket drive going on, has signed players, and has a tentative home opener. However here in niagara most people don't even know we have a team. Besides the small article in Niagara this Week and a few small press releases on this site, there has been no mention of the team. Nothing in the Standard or Niagara Falls Review. Heck, more people in Rochester know about the Niagara team then here in Niagara. The Buffalo ABA team has been on Channel 2 News a few times as well. Some how I don't think this team will draw well because no one will even know they exist. And thats sad!

Yes it is true, St. Catharines will be the home of the newest ABA team. they will be known as the NIagara Daredevils and will play their games starting in November at the Jack Gatecliffe arena.
All home games will be played on Sunday afternoon. in fact go to the ABAlive.com for more info on all the teams and their websites...enjoy the games....

just because he wasn't in the standard doesn't mean it isn't true. they aren't the be all and end all when it comes to reporting the news

I'm curious as to why the team ownership is not going all out with publicity and seasons ticket sales. If it wasn't for this site, I still wouldn't know about the team coming here.
