sorry, will have to miss this barn burner. I will be in the falls watching the Blackhawks and Canucks continue their battle, with most of the other shoe fans. Last nights 50/50 was $180 not bad for an exhibition game, i'm sure they will top that in the falls tonight.

I am a Hawk fan, I was at the game last night and thats why I'm going to the Canadians/Falcons game tonight. Its pretty bad when the only good thing we can say is that we had a $180.00 fifty/fifty draw I hope that the Hawks and Canucks have more then they showed last night.(enough said)

I'm pretty sure most of u so called "fans" are just players covering up so u can promote your team/yourself and bash other teams and players. its no secret 'canuck fan' or 'falcon fan' or 'hawk fan' or whatever fan u claim to be. it makes me sick reading all of this self promotion going on here. i bet u any real fan doesnt even go on the sites or discussion forums. promote yourself on the ice and not on discussion forums.

The 50/50 was $180, my point was, to generate a prize that size took a considerable crowd especially for exhibition, basically double the prize and that gives you the attendance. as for the game??? it was more entertaining than the Welland/St. Catharines series last year. Thorold led 3-0 late in the second period but the Falls scored 3 goals in just over a minute to tie the game. Thorold scored the game winner with just over a minute to play in the second. the third period featured some excellent goaltending at both ends.

What an awful hockey game. Both teams wouldn't be able to put 6 good defence on the ice between them...No 4 St Catharines was brutal.. The first goalie for Welland must have been a Bantam tender,..Hall we know will have better days, but his defence was terrible.. St Catharines and Welland will be fighting for 4th spot behind ..Niagara falls.. Stoney Creek and Welland..

Hey "Can't Make It ", hope you enjoyed your game in the Falls
Falcons/Canadians, good offence, work on the defence.
Falcons don't need 50/50 draws at Ex. Games, they have a ton of money in the bank from the great attendance they had last year., See Ya

a ton of money??? thanks for telling me, I know someone who "was" going to throw some money into their scholly fund for St. Catharines kids. Falcons were begging for $65,000 for this fund just a month ago in the newspaper. If they have so much, i wonder why the organization really needed the money??? Better watch what you say on here, it may come back to haunt some organizations, especially if you don't know what your talking about. Besides i was refering to the size of the crowd at the NF/Thorold game, not how much money the team made. Truth is, people know good hockey when they see it, and thats what draws a crowd. I learned more about the league tonight in the Falls than you will ever know.

Falcon Fan , you may be a fan but if you thought that was good offence your hockey knowledge is limited. What i saw was bad goaltending and bad D and forwards running around all over the place ..Look like a game of road hockey to me..Seems neither team has a system of any kind. Hadn't anyone on either team been taught to head man the puck. Both coaches should be embarrassed by what ever that was.

Can't Make It...you are right, people know good hockey and thats what draws a crowd. Thats why the Falcons were the #1 draw in the Shoe last year and will be again this year.
Your comment was "last night's 50/50 draw was $180.00, not bad for an exhibition game, I'm sure they'll top that in the Falls tonight ", nothing about the attendance or expected attendance in the Falls on Friday night.
You learned more tonight about the league, well thats probably a good thing, if you up-grade yourself with enough knowledge you will become closer to being a Falcon fan again.

Falcon Fan : Your first post says i think Dahms and Blinkhorne will have a big night tonight ... Dahms had a couple of goals but did not have a good game ..I had to notice Blinkhorne because he was on the ice a lot ..He also didn't play a good game.. What are your thoughts. These guys are supposed to be leaders.

You are right, I have to agree with your comments but remember one game doesn,t make a season. Its still pre-season and the wrinkles still have to worked out. I'm sure Mr. Cole will have the team ready to go, come season opener.

Well Falcon fan you sound like a reasonable person. What do you think the Falcon's need to compete for top spot... I think they have enough offence maybe too much to keep all the players happy..If i were them i would package a few forwards for a solid D man... Doesn't have to be a No 1 but at least a No 3... The way i see it now the Falcon's have 1 top 3 D man and 5 that are 5 or 6 ...Maybe a trade with one of the D and a forward for a better D... Just a thought . I know its only exibition but from what i seen Falcon's can do no better then third place this season with the team they have.

"pete" your an idiot. You know as well as i do is that sean hall is capable of doing much better then that last night. I attended that game, and yes he had an off night. Goaltenders are human, and its only pre-season. What the falcons need to do is find a reliable backup.

Backup for what ? Cole never plays the backup, they just sit on the bench . The only work out they get is in practice. Their backup played one game last year and lost. The year before, the backup only played 56 min., not even a full game. If I was a goalie, the last place I'd want to come to is St. Cath. At least not until Hall is to old

Five hole should not make unfactual comments. Falcons still had 4 goalies in camp as of thursday., What goalie would want to come to St. Kitts to be 2nd fiddle to Hall. Four years and Hall has earned the right to be #1 and play many games. A solid second goalie will hopefully emerge. Maybe Cole is too loyal to Hall - no way Hall has carried the Falcons when times were tough now he should be able to enjoy the ride back to respectability for the organization.
Better yet don't get rid of Hall or another coach get rid of all the negative unfactual continuous rumors a few participants thrive on on this forum, that spoil the otherwise intelligent insightful and interesting thoughts of our fellow shoe fans.

He is capable of much more than that.

if the falcons want a reliable backup goaltender, they have to play this backup goaltender. a goalie cannot go into 1 game all year and expect him to have his best stuff. confidence has a lot to do with how a goaltender plays. do u think a goalie can go into a game after not seeing the ice all year and play his best. playing hall 47 out of 48 games is ludacris. you dont know if u have a reliable backup tender if u dont give him a chance. fowler and penner only playing 1 game each last year is a complete and utter joke. hall is not as good as the falcons coaching staff seems to think.

To Hockey Fan, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
You are right about the offence but I have to dissagree with you when you say maybe too much. In this league as you know, you can never have too much offence when you play a top notch team like Thorold. Yes, we have to shore up our blue line but lets give these kids a month or so to see what they can do.
The trade you mentioned may be a good idea but lets wait a month or so to see what our defence turns out to be. We were weak here last year and I think we've made the moves to improve. Time will tell.
Don't worry about our goaltending, we have one of the best in the league, no , one of the best jr.b goalies in Ontario. He's always been there when needed.
As far as where we will end up, I say 2nd place, not too far behind Thorold, but miles ahead of the Canucks.
Again, this prediction and $1.25 will get you a coffee at Tim Hortons
