1) Do I need to register in order to use this forum?
You do not need to register in order to read messages on this forum. However, you will need to register in order to post messages. In addition, registered users will enjoy additional features.
2) What additional features will registered users receive?
Registered users will have the following features:
-all posts you make will automatically have your account information filled in.
-no one will be able to post using your name (you can "secure" it so that no one else has it!).
-ability to modify all your messages at any time
-You can get email notification of replies to your message or any other topic that you select for e-mail notification
-ability to read unread messages only. Registered users will see a blue "NEW" icon next to threads they have not read yet. By clicking the blue "new" icon, you will automatically to taken to the first new unread message.
-option to include an avatar (picture under user name) with all posts. Avatars are the image which displays in your profile which represents you.
-a private message box (internal e-mail system) where the user will be able to send and receive private messages with other registered users. Registered users have 3 ways of contacting a member:
1. Using the "send this member a PM" link from their profile
2. Pressing the envelope icon in their "mini profile" next to a post of theirs
3. Going to the PM area, selecting "new message" and typing their user name in the user name box.
Once here you can enter a subject and message just like any other post
3) How do I register?
Simply click the icon at the top. You need to enter a user name, password and e-mail. You also have the option to hide your e-mail address so that other users will not be able to view your e-mail address. Once you have entered this information, a confirmation message is then sent to your e-mail addresses to confirm that the e-mail addresses you entered is valid.
4) How do I post a message?
To start a new topic, click the icon.
To post a message to an existing topic, click the icon. Alternatively, a reply box will appear at the bottom of the list of messages. You can quickly type your reply and submit it from the reply box.
You can also quote a previous message in your reply. To do this, simply go to the message that you want to quote and click the icon. This will bring up the screen to post a reply, and it will automatically include a copy of the message you are replying to. This is helpful if there is a busy topic and you wish to reply to one specific posters message.
5) What is "send topic to friend"
If you would like to email a friend of yours about a discussion that is going on, you can easily do so.
Simply click the "send topic to friend" link at the top of the page, enter your friend's email address, and they will be emailed a link to the page you were reading.
6) What is the "print" button?
If you ever want to print a thread out, simply click this button and you will be presented with a printer-friendly page that you can print out with ease.
