Queeny I am not privy to the list of players from past teams as you are. But from memory, I can count six players off the Sutherland Cup team that are from Thorold, not the four or five you mentioned. I am probably missing someone. Risi, Smuds, both Martins, Demoe and Jackson. I am sure that someone will fill in another couple. As well, no-one on here has suggested that you go with an all Thorold team as you suggest. Good local talent should be able to develop with a mix of imports, I just don't see the local talent being developed. Last, you can say that you are big supporters of Thorold minor hockey, but until I see more local kids on this team, than your recent actions don't support this statement.

If the TAAA can not produce the caliber of player that can make the team - is it the teams fault or the TAAA fault....

Thorold had the move of bringing back any OHL players that from this area(Zmud, Zalba etc) now there is none that I know of. I really think that is where NFalls outshines everyone, they go and find 3rd or 4th liners in the OHL and give them "packages" and ice-time and starring roles, usually as scorers or goons. Atleast makes them scary every year. Timmins had Ghirney and other guys sniffing all the time for that "next guy". I'm sure Frank will be doing the same thing for Cole in St. Kitts now. It is all about saving cards for later.

The majority of people pick either the Canucks or Falcons to rule this year. How will they fare in the Suthie against the Mid-West? Better than in the last kick at the cat.

Ryan Ludzik was traded from the Erie Otters I would say that Ryan will be Windsors starting goalie You still Ryan Ludzik will play for Windsor. I'll bet ya he's in the Falls lineup this weekend, as he just got cut from Windsor. He will be the best goalie in this league, but he can't play in the O.

I was talking to Dave and he told me that this is the year that Thorold will win it all. He has been out recruiting all year and he really likes the looks of his team. I know that they didn't look to good at the tournament, but this team has all the makings of being able to go all the way. I believe in u Dave!

I have to say it's to early to have any predictions as we all know these teams will change from now to playoffs. What I will say as an opinion is I agree with gunnerstahl that with ex. Jr. sabre signings will make thorold a much better team. All the kids they brought over are quality / good role players. I also know that the Blades will have many suprises this year as the new head coach has many connections and arrangements with college coaches to send him players that may be a year or 2 away. Im not talking rinky dink colleges either. They will be MUCH improved and as many of you know Johnstone will make them into something special. Players want to play for him. Anyway it looks like it should be a great year of hockey in the GHL. Looking forward to it. Good luck to all

Will make the predictions and this year maybe somewhat different the last years but not much change. finish order Falcons - will continue where they left off in this league at the top. Still not sure if they can bring home suthy but that is a way down the road. Great pickup in JT MacDonald will make this team really strong up front. solid D and G will go along way Canucks - they will be pushed to finish here but past history will not allow them to falter that much. G now has three so it will create a bit of controversy. Loss of numerous scorers will be hard to replace but somehow they will find them. Kusy and Jakosky will help out. Welland - sleeper will finish in top three, g is the question. Look for McQuade to break out. Should have been given shot in the O. Creek - maybe back to respectability this year, last year was a waste but numerous changes will result in better results. Fort Erie - this year could be different, g looks solid, d led by Letwin will only get better and the return of Steckley and Farigraves should help. Sailors - not expecting much as last year they started out with a bang only to falter terribly in the latter part of last year and in the playoffs. Thorold too much unrest here for me to predict anything great for them this year. Will wait for a few games in to see and maybe rerank the teams. Blades of Glory definitely going in the right direction. May have the best leader in the league but you still need the soldiers and right now they don't. Give this team time and in a few years they may be in the top 5 along as scholarship promises actually become reality.

On the other hand Ryan Ludzik has been returned to The Canucks by Windsor, so that should help at that end of the ice.

If past history proves correct, I don't think the Falls are finished reloading yet. They'll sooner or later pick up some scoring help from the OHL when they cut down. I predict it will be between St. Kitts and the Falls all the way to the wire for first, Thorold, Welland, Stoney Creek and a toss up between the last three. I'll say Port- 6th, Weatfield ( because of Johnston ) 7th and Fort Erie last.

Canucks are short on offensive firepower this year from their forwards and defense. Falcons should take first place easily with the rest fighting for second.

I like laughouts predictions, Thorold dead last. For all those that said Thorold was not going anywhere this year, what does crow taste like anyway.
